Der Anteil älterer Menschen an der Bevölkerung nimmt zu. Ein Drittel der Deutschen bzw. Österreicher/innen wird im Jahr 2060 über 65 Jahre alt sein - für Anbieter von Weiterbildungen eine besondere Herausforderung.
Die empirische Studie 'Bildung und aktives Altern' untersucht das Bildungsverhalten Älterer und beleuchtet den Zusammenhang zwischen Bildung und sozialer Inklusion. Sie arbeitet heraus, welche Faktoren die Bildungsbeteiligung älterer Menschen begünstigen und wie sich Bildung im Alter auf Faktoren wie Gesundheit und soziales und politisches Engagement auswirkt. Best-Practice-Projekte geben Erwachsenenbildnern Anregungen für die Planung und Durchführung von Bildungsveranstaltungen.
The percentage of older people in the population is increasing. In the year 2060, one third of
Germany's and Austria's populations will be over 65 years old. This will be a particular
challenge for institutes offering further education.
The empirical study 'Education and Active Ageing' looks at the educational behaviour of
older people and highlights the correlation between education and social inclusion. It
addresses the factors that contribute positively to learning processes in the elderly and the
way education impacts factors like health and social and political commitment. Best practice
projects offer adult education providers suggestions for the planning and implemention of
educational events..

Vienna. Pegah Ahmadi is a research fellow working on projects of geragogics and life course studies.
