The term popular education is playing an ever increasing role in the international debate. The report aims to investigate what historical origins and current discourses are of importance for adult education in German-language countries, It also looks at the question of how concepts of further education derived from these discourses can be developed, concepts which see themselves as different from or marginalized by dominant institutions.
